Playing House

After Leandra was given the money to redecorate the house and the bedroom to her liking she hired a professional, adding African tribal touches throughout the home. This was an easy way to get rid of the pain of isolation, as Leandra was desperately lonely most of the time, she enjoyed decorating and cooking even though most of the time she couldn’t eat.

She would spend her mornings grooming Paul when he was at home and other days she laid in bed and talked to her mother on the phone, the only human other than Paul and his children, who she knew hated her that was aware of her situation. She was also partially in charge of Isaiah, which was uncomfortable to her because of their closeness in age, his behavior towards her, and the seething resentment that echoed throughout the house when the two were the only ones there. Isaiah would sit in the kitchen and watch her cook and eat but the two rarely spoke. His ever present eyes watching made her feel self-conscious and she could feel his gaze whenever she bent over. It excited and nauseated her. She would focus on trying to start conversations that ended mostly with her saying “OK, then,” due to lack of response.

She felt ashamed that she was slightly attracted to Isaiah but understood that she was supposed to put on some kind of nice game face and be his stepmother in some aspect. The lack of communication left her alone to her imagination about what he thought of her. Some nights when he had his girlfriend over she would fantasize about what she heard through the walls and wait until Paul came home in order to fulfill her deepest desires, underneath his heavy body covered with his sweat she always felt miniscule and she tried to make sense of everything but would just fuck the thoughts away, being a good wife. She knew that she would soon be too big to enjoy sex, especially considering Paul’s size and her fear of hurting the baby that was growing inside of her.

One night in Paul’s absence, she laid in bed alone and listened to Isaiah making love to his girlfriend. It stung a little, to realize that he had given up so much of her youth already to get situated in what was becoming a boring life. When she thought about it though, she was glad she caught Paul because she couldn’t imagine going back to the struggle that her life was before him. He quite literally saved her from poverty and they both knew it. That’s why on certain nights when Paul wanted to do kinkier things than she was normally willing to do she would fully submit to him. She knew that on a certain level, while she had gotten what she wanted, she was now property. New world slavery. But she was also going to be a mother soon and didn’t know how to cope with that given her isolation.
